Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Knights vs. Hanover Wildcats

The Lakeside Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Hanover Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Lakeside earned a 62-53 victory over Sylvan-Lucas. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hanover, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Doniphan West 57-31 on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Mustangs are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Lakeside was dealt a bruising 75-37 defeat at the hands of Hanover in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. Can Lakeside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
