Football Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Comes Up Short

Patrick Henry Academy had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Bethesda Academy Blazers and fell 56-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

As for Bethesda Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The match marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

Bethesda Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Cheever, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Jordan Turner, who rushed for 26 yards and one TD.

Patrick Henry Academy and Bethesda Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Patriots see the field they'll take on Thomas Heyward Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. As for Bethesda Academy, their break will end when they face Beaufort Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
