Baseball Game Preview: New London Whalers vs. Killingly Redmen

New London hasn't had much luck against Killingly recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Whalers will be playing at home against the Redmen at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New London came out on top against Griswold on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Whalers took their matchup against the Wolverines 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Whalers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Killingly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Griswold get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Saturday. While the Redmen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Killingly pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for New London, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
