Baseball Game Preview: Dibble Demons vs. Preston Pirates

Dibble is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Preston is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Dibble Demons will host the Preston Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Dibble 1.1, Preston 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Dibble proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Marietta 2-1.

Kaden Barnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, AJ Skipper was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Preston got themselves on the board against Hulbert on Saturday, but Hulbert never followed suit. They blew past the Riders 12-0. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Riders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Preston's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Dibble, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
