Centralia entered their tilt with Flora on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 7-4. For the Orphans, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Centralia's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Flora, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Centralia and Flora should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Orphans will square off against Columbia at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (45 vs. 140). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Centralia 2.3, the Eagles 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Flora (ranked 109th) will meet Mater Dei (ranked 275th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
