Volleyball Recap: Luverne Comes Up Short

Luverne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Eufaula. Luverne was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eufaula apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.

Luverne actually scored more points across those three sets (60-53), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 12-25, 15-11.

Luverne's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Eufaula, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-8 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luverne will challenge Pike Liberal Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eufaula, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carroll at 5:15 p.m. on October 7.
