Soccer Game Preview: Dobyns-Bennett vs. Jefferson County

The Dobyns-Bennett Indians will face off against the Jefferson County Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dobyns-Bennett is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Dobyns-Bennett and Science Hill meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Indians who were credited with the victory. Dobyns-Bennett got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Science Hill's three. Lucas Park had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Dobyns-Bennett.

Jefferson County lost 4-1 to Sevier County on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Jefferson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Sevier County are ranked 26th).

Dobyns-Bennett's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2-2. As for Jefferson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-2.

Dobyns-Bennett took their victory against Jefferson County in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 5-2 score. In that game, the Indians amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
