Basketball Recap: Florida Christian Snaps 13-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Florida Christian entered their contest against Divine Savior Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Florida Christian Patriots took a 74-56 bruising from the Divine Savior Academy Sharks. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 70-51 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Divine Savior Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Watson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Watson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Grande, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.

Florida Christian's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7. As for Divine Savior Academy, their record is now 13-4.

Florida Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-32 victory against Pinecrest Glades Academy on the 22nd. Divine Savior Academy has also already played their next matchup, an 83-75 win against Palmetto on the 18th.
