Preview: Central Lyon vs. Washington

Washington takes on Central Lyon this Friday. Washington is limping into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

After flying high the game before (34 points), Washington faltered in its previous match. Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull delivered Washington a harsh 55 - 6 defeat last week. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a surprise as Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull is ranked 6th in the state, many places higher than Washington.

As for Central Lyon, it brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (seven points) in the match before. It didn't have too much trouble with Pocahontas/Laurens-Marathon in its last game, where Central Lyon won 56 - 40. That marks its first win on the road this year.

Washington's defeat dropped it to 1-5 while Central Lyon's victory brought it to 2-4. Both Washington and Central Lyon have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 38.17 points per game, the latter an average of 33.83 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
