Jones County entered their tilt with Putnam County on Saturday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They rang in the new year with a 52-42 win over the Putnam County War Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-50 back in November of 2024.

Jones County can attribute much of their success to Aubrey Norris, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Mya Anderson, who had 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Jones County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Jones County pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Putnam County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Jones County and Putnam County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Jones County (ranked 39th) will meet Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (ranked 473rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Putnam County (ranked 143rd) will meet Towers (ranked 501st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
