Basketball Game Preview: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats vs. Port Aransas Marlins

The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats will head out to face off against the Port Aransas Marlins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Skidmore-Tynan will head out to face Port Aransas after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Skidmore-Tynan fell just short of Yorktown by a score of 31-28. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Port Aransas unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 43-33 to Refugio. While the Marlins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 12-4 in the first quarter.

Port Aransas' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 18-7. As for Skidmore-Tynan, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-9.

Skidmore-Tynan couldn't quite finish off Port Aransas in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 37-34. Can Skidmore-Tynan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
