Football Game Preview: Wolfe City Wolves vs. Trenton Tigers

The Wolfe City Wolves will face off against the Trenton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trenton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wolfe City, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Wolfe City took their game with ease, bagging a 64-23 win over Nocona.

Wolfe City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hd Davis led the charge by rushing for 139 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 16th straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season. Casen Pessel was another key player, picking up 149 receiving yards and three scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wolfe City proved: they limited Nocona to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. The Wolves didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.4.

Meanwhile, Trenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of Alvord.

Trenton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wolfe City, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Wolfe City against Trenton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-20 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Tigers' Nolan Yowell, who rushed for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
