Baseball Recap: Round Mountain Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tonopah, Round Mountain was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Ash Fork Spartans 7-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Luis Varela, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Varela is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Penson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Round Mountain's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Ash Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Round Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Ash Fork/Seligman on the 7th. As for Ash Fork, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-8 defeat against Laughlin on the 7th.
