Byron Center won against Allendale on Wednesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went Byron Center's way against the Christian Eagles as Byron Center made off with an 8-1 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kellen Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Payne was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Jake Hill looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Byron Center let Tate Bainbridge and Luke Laska run wild. Bainbridge got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double, while Laska went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Ricketts, who scored a run and stole a base.

Byron Center's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byron Center will head out to square off against South Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against East Grand Rapids at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. This will be Christian's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
