Baseball Recap: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Hobgood Charter Raiders
Cape Hatteras proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hobgood Charter Raiders 14-12. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.
Mikie Gavetti was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Cape Hatteras' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Landen Sonnier, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
