Recap: Simon Kenton Pioneers vs. Gallatin County Wildcats
There's no place like home for the Simon Kenton Pioneers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 71-63 win over Gallatin County on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Simon Kenton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jay Bilton, who scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Bach, who scored 15 points.
Simon Kenton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Gallatin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simon Kenton will square off against Ryle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gallatin County, they will head out on the road to square off against Trimble County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Trimble County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 23.
