Basketball Game Preview: Deweyville Pirates vs. Poolville Monarchs

The Deweyville Pirates will challenge the Poolville Monarchs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Deweyville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-38 win over Burkeville. With the Pirates ahead 40-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Deweyville found their leader in sophomore Kamen Collins, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 steals. Ross Rivers was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Poolville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-57 W against the Patriots.
