Basketball Recap: Lamar Beats Florence for Their Fifth Straight Win

Lamar extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Brooklyn Robbins. The Lamar Thunder simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Florence Huskies 48-7 thanks in part to Robbins, who went 11 for 15 on her way to 25 points and four steals. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Weber, who posted nine points and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Florence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will head out to square off against Crowley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar's defense has only allowed 25.4 points per game this season, so Crowley County's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to challenge Woodland Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Florence is facing Woodland Park at the right time seeing as Woodland Park is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
