Basketball Recap: Douglass Comes Up Short

Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Trezevant Bears and fell 64-11. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.

It was another big night for SHELBY GRAY, who shot 6-for-9 from deep and almost dropped a triple-double with 33 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals for Trezevant. The dominant performance also gave GRAY a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). JUSTICE DUNLAP was another key player, going 7 for 15 to rack up 18 points and three steals.

Douglass' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Trezevant, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-11.

Looking ahead, Douglass is taking a road trip to take on Booker T. Washington at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trezevant, they will host KIPP Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
