Recap: Umatilla Bulldogs vs. Evans Trojans
The Umatilla Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 29 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 59-9 win over Evans at home. Winning may never get old, but Umatilla sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Umatilla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Herva Brutus, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Brutus' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Washington, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Umatilla is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Evans, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Umatilla won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against University at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. University is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Evans' road trip will continue as they head out to face Winter Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Winter Park will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
