Basketball Recap: Cary-Grove Victorious

Cary-Grove lost to Jacobs back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Cary-Grove Trojans had just enough and edged the Jacobs Golden Eagles out 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Golden Eagles since December 1, 2021.

Jacobs' loss came despite strong showings from Ben Jurzak and Nolan Roper. Jurzak posted 16 points and three steals, while Roper went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Cary-Grove's record is now 5-3. As for Jacobs, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cary-Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-48 win against Marian Central Catholic on the 14th. As for Jacobs, they will host South Elgin at 10:30 a.m. on December 21st.
