Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Victorious

Tri-Valley came out on top against Prairie Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Vikings took their contest against the Hawks 7-4. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Gretchen Wyant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zoey Whittaker, who went 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Kylie Walden also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Prairie Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Tri-Valley will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Fisher at 4:30 p.m. As for Prairie Central, they will head out to face off against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
