Baseball Recap: Greenville Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Greenville finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cleveland Central Wolves, falling 9-0. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost nine in a row.

Greenville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ladarius Adkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Adkins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Greenville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-8. As for Cleveland Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-12 record this season.

While Greenville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
