Keaton Rine leads a balanced attack to beat Hastings

Recap: Waverly Vikings vs. Hastings Tigers
The Waverly Vikings won the last time they faced the Hastings Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Waverly snuck past Hastings with a 58-52 victory.
Waverly's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keaton Rine led the charge by scoring 17 points. Rine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Axmann, who scored 13 points.
Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Waverly's road trip will continue as they head out to face Scottsbluff at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Hastings, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Adams Central.
