The ALA - Queen Creek Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Maricopa Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. ALA - Queen Creek will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
ALA - Queen Creek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Mesa on Monday. ALA - Queen Creek put the hurt on Mesa with a sharp 16-1 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Devin Sorensen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Seth Nielson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Xander Mcrae was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
ALA - Queen Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mesa only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Maricopa fell victim to Casa Grande and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 7-0. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Maricopa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Brady McMullen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Maricopa's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their record now sits at 6-0.
Maricopa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: ALA - Queen Creek has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Maricopa, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given ALA - Queen Creek's sizable advantage in that area, Maricopa will need to find a way to close that gap.
