Soccer Game Preview: Vista Murrieta vs. Murrieta Mesa

The Vista Murrieta Broncos will face off against the Murrieta Mesa Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Vista Murrieta's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Vista Murrieta gave up the first goal last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Murrieta Valley, sneaking past 3-2. The result kept the Broncos happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 26, 2024.

They hit Murrieta Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caeden Rush, David Mejia, and Roman Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Temecula Valley, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 859th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 407th).

Vista Murrieta is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six contests. As for Murrieta Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Everything went Vista Murrieta's way against Murrieta Mesa in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Vista Murrieta made off with a 7-1 victory. Will Vista Murrieta repeat their success, or does Murrieta Mesa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
