Baseball Recap: Roswell Comes Up Short

Roswell fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Artesia on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-4. The Coyotes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Roswell got a good showing from Diego Villa, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Villa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Davian Dominguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Lujan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Roswell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Artesia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Roswell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against Lovington on the 22nd. As for Artesia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Goddard on the 22nd.
