The Lake Norman Charter Knights will face off against the Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Lake Norman Charter couldn't beat East Rowan on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Knights fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lake Norman Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Wilkie, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another was Jesus Acuna, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Pro Stock Royals Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Cougars.
Zach Rometo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Luke Miller was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Zaffarese, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Pro Stock Royals Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cannon only managed three hits.
Lake Norman Charter's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lake Norman Charter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pro Stock Royals Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Lake Norman Charter's way against Pro Stock Royals Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Lake Norman Charter made off with a 15-0 victory.
