Preview: North Medford Black Tornado vs. Roseburg Indians
North Medford is 9-1 against Roseburg since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The North Medford Black Tornado will be playing at home against the Roseburg Indians at 6:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
North Medford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 79-65 bruising from South Eugene.
Houston Klug put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Miguel Torres was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, North Medford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Roseburg came up short against Philomath on Friday and fell 74-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (61), Roseburg still had to take the loss.
North Medford has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Roseburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
North Medford took their victory against Roseburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 83-63. Does North Medford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roseburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
