Basketball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Comes Up Short

Wardlaw Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 50-16 defeat at the hands of the Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

India Williams was her usual excellent self, putting up 39 points for Westminster Schools of Augusta. The contest was Williams' ninth in a row with at least ten points.

Wardlaw Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Wardlaw Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Midlands STEM Charter at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pinewood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
