Basketball Recap: T.R. Miller Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cj Stanton and Myles Johnson

T.R. Miller was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monroe County Tigers. T.R. Miller was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Monroe County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

T.R. Miller's loss came despite strong showings from Myles Johnson and Cj Stanton. Johnson posted 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Stanton had ten points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stanton a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Hubbert, who put up four points and five rebounds.

T.R. Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Monroe County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

T.R. Miller won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Monroe County Tigers challenge the Excel Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
