Baseball Game Preview: Hilton Head Island Seahawks vs. Bluffton Bobcats

For the second straight game, Hilton Head Island will face off against Bluffton. The Seahawks will face off against the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hilton Head Island is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Hilton Head Island is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Bluffton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. Seahawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bobcats since on Tuesday.

Jack Boatwright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Hilton Head Island is 2-1 when Boatwright posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Kyle Larson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bluffton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Hilton Head Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
