Volleyball Recap: Sand Creek Takes a Loss

Sand Creek lost against Fountain-Fort Carson back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Scorpions fell 2-0 to the Trojans. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Sand Creek ultimately came up short, they really made Fountain-Fort Carson work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-14.

Madelyn Jones paced Sand Creek's offense, picking up six kills. Jones got some help from Jasyra Corpus and her eight assists.

Fountain-Fort Carson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Angela Eilers led the charge by getting 15 digs and two assists.

Sand Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Sand Creek has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Sierra on the 11th. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Pueblo East on the 11th.
