Basketball Recap: Nebraska City Takes a Loss

Nebraska City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 65-36 loss at the hands of the Malcolm Clippers. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 64-18 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Malcolm found their leader in freshman Payton Dolliver, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dolliver has scored all season. Merryl Paul was another key player, going 6 for 9 on her way to 15 points and six boards.

Nebraska City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Malcolm, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nebraska City will take on Platteview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Malcolm, they will face off against Freeman on Tuesday. Malcolm is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
