Softball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern's last matchup with Indian Land could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Warriors, falling 9-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northwestern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carmen Kelly, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Northwestern has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Indian Land, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will face off against York at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Indian Land, they will take on Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
