Basketball Recap: Dunellen Takes a Loss

Dunellen lost against Brearley back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dunellen Destroyers were outmatched by the Brearley Bears and fell 47-11. The Destroyers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-5.

Sophie Jimenez was Dunellen's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Fernanda Ames Castillo held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Jizela Vargas-Gonzalez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Dunellen's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Brearley, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunellen will head out to challenge Keyport at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brearley, they will challenge Metuchen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
