Volleyball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Fernandina Beach Pirates + How To Watch

Fletcher is 9-1 against Fernandina Beach since August of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Senators will square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Fletcher is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.

On Tuesday, Fletcher had just enough and edged out Episcopal School of Jacksonville 3-2.

Fletcher can attribute much of their success to Ashton Kirton, who had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave Kirton a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Fernandina Beach came up short against Baldwin on Monday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-19.

Fletcher will need to focus on slowing down Claire Wilson, one of several Fernandina Beach players who made an impact when they last played. She had 12 digs and four aces.

Fletcher's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Fernandina Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Fletcher took their victory against Fernandina Beach when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
