Volleyball Game Preview: Herrin Tigers vs. Pinckneyville Panthers

Herrin hasn't had much luck against Pinckneyville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Herrin will be strutting in after a victory while Pinckneyville will be coming in after a loss.

Herrin will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating DuQuoin, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers came out on top against the Indians by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

Herrin never let DuQuoin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Pinckneyville didn't have quite enough to beat Waterloo on Saturday and fell 2-1.

Pinckneyville's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Herrin, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 10-22.

Herrin came up short against Pinckneyville in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
