Basketball Recap: Port Huron's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Port Huron lost against Grosse Pointe South back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Port Huron Red Hawks fell 47-35 to the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Hawks came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 273rd).

Port Huron's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Grosse Pointe South, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

The future could be bright for both Port Huron and Grosse Pointe South: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Port Huron will try to hand Sterling Heights Stevenson their eighth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe South will look to extend Grosse Pointe North's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
