Baseball Recap: Wasatch Gets the Win

Wasatch won against Lincoln on Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Wasps walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Timpview Thunderbirds. The Wasps haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Wasatch got a great performance from Miguel Armendariz as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Armendariz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Brown and Braxton Faller did most of the damage at the plate: Brown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Faller went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jackson Komaromy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Wasatch's record now sits at 9-4. As for Timpview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Wasatch will have a chance to go back-to-back against Timpview: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
