Basketball Game Preview: Punxsutawney Chucks vs. Elk County Catholic Crusaders

Punxsutawney is 0-10 against Elk County Catholic since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Punxsutawney Chucks will head out on the road to challenge the Elk County Catholic Crusaders at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Punxsutawney took a blow against Brookville, falling 68-33.

Meanwhile, Elk County Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 62-32 victory over DuBois Central Catholic. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 28 points or more this season.

Elk County Catholic's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Punxsutawney, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Punxsutawney was dealt a bruising 61-31 loss at the hands of Elk County Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Punxsutawney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
