Basketball Game Preview: Gilbert Indians vs. North Augusta Yellow Jackets

The Gilbert Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the North Augusta Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gilbert lost 68-47 to Airport on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, North Augusta entered their tilt with Denmark-Olar on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 win over the Vikings. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Vikings are ranked 37th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Augusta's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Gilbert took a serious blow against North Augusta in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 55-17. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Gilbert was down 32-7.
