Baseball Recap: Greater Beckley Christian's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Greater Beckley Christian dropped their record down to 14-10 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 10-4 to the Mount View Golden Knights. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Knights earlier this season, when they won 16-9.

As for Mount View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

For Mount View's part, Hunter Muncy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Muncy has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Tanner Little and Brayden Brewer did most of the damage at the plate: Little got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Brewer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Levi Barton, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
