Basketball Recap: Brianna Valenza and Karolina Ramirez Secure Win for Martin County

Martin County won the last time they faced Jensen Beach and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers took down the Falcons 55-39.

Martin County was led to victory by Karolina Ramirez and Brianna Valenza. Ramirez posted 19 points, while Valenza scored 17 points. Ramirez's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Becca Witt was another key player, putting up seven points.

Jensen Beach's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danielle Bell, who earned 12 points, and Lizzie Fitzwater, who put up 13 points and five boards.

The win got Martin County back to even at 1-1. As for Jensen Beach, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Martin County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jensen Beach, they will face off against Schoolhouse Prep at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th.
