Softball Recap: Northwood Beats South Bend Adams for Their Third Straight Victory

NorthWood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the South Bend Adams Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Chloe Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, NorthWood got a big performance out of Megan Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Yoder has posted since back in April. Mady Grover also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

NorthWood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

NorthWood's record is now 15-7. As for South Bend Adams, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

NorthWood and South Bend Adams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will face off against West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. NorthWood is facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for South Bend Adams, they will take on Mishawaka at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
