Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayden Urban and Sami Guikema Lead Manvel to Victory

It's playoff time, and Manvel had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Clear Creek Wildcats on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Mavericks, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Leading Manvel to victory were Sami Guikema and Hayden Urban. Guikema had 23 digs and five assists, while Urban had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Urban has posted over her last six matches.

Clear Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elissa James, who had 16 digs and six assists, and Camdyn Cole, who had 31 assists and nine digs. James has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last 18 times she's played.

Manvel's victory bumped their record up to 31-11. As for Clear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-20.

Coming up, Manvel will square off against Stratford on Friday. Clear Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
