Baseball Recap: Munster Wins Going Away Against Bremen

After only one run in their last match, Munster made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bremen on Saturday. The Mustangs blew past the Braves 11-2. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bishop Cappetto made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cappetto was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Owen Roberts looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Mason Jarrett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last ten contests. Another player making a difference was Donovan Craig, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Munster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bremen only posted an OBP of .259.

Munster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bremen, their loss dropped their record down to 14-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Munster will venture away from home to square off against Crete-Monee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremen, they will head out to challenge Hinsdale South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
