Basketball Recap: Mars Piles Up the Points Against North Hills

While Mars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 83-55 stomp they got against the North Hills Indians. The Fightin' Planets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 28 points or more this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Mars, bringing their record for this year to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for North Hills, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mars will square off against Montour at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mars knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Montour likes a good challenge. As for North Hills, they will challenge Pine-Richland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
