Softball Recap: Twin Valley Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Twin Valley barely beat Governor Mifflin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Erin Cromwell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ella Herbst, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Twin Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Twin Valley pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Governor Mifflin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Valley will take on Muhlenberg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Muhls have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.4 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Governor Mifflin, they will face off against Conrad Weiser at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
