Appalachian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Douglas, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. Appalachian was the clear victor by a 17-11 margin over Douglas on Friday. Appalachian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Graci McGuire, who fired off three home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Fore, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

McGuire wasn't the only one making solid contact: Appalachian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Appalachian pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appalachian will venture away from home to face off against Pennington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Douglas, they will head out to challenge Sardis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
